An online planner for longer and multi-stop trips.

Planning a long trip gets complicated quickly.

Keep your route, bookings, budget, tasks and daily plans together throughout your trip.

For long holidays, extended travel and adventures across more than one country.

Plan it before you go. Use it while you travel.

Built by James & Rob, while planning our own longer trips.

Why big trips get complicated

The excitement is clear.
The details can get scattered.

Booking emails, spreadsheets, notes, travel apps and websites each hold part of the picture. The longer the trip, the harder it becomes to keep them in step.

Booking emailsFlights here. Hotels elsewhere.
Budget spreadsheetIs this still the right total?
Notes & AI chatsWhich decision did we make?
Dates & remindersWhat needs doing next?

One trip. One plan.

Know where you stand.
Know what comes next.

Build your route, estimate what it may cost, add your bookings and track what you have actually spent. ETP keeps your planning, bookings, tasks and daily travel details connected, so a change in one part of your trip makes sense everywhere else.

The planner we wished we’d had.

We built the Extended Travel Planner while planning for a year of travel ourselves. Our itinerary was spread across bookings, spreadsheets, emails and notes.

We wanted one place that could hold all of that before we left and still be useful once we were actually travelling.

Estimate

Estimate first. Track the real cost as you book.

Research a realistic planning figure before you commit.

Actual

Track what you really spend.

Add real bookings as you make them and see how much of your budget is committed, paid and still outstanding.

How much of our budget is already committed?

Daily Schedule

Know what is happening today.

Daily Schedule turns your route and bookings into a practical day-by-day view.

See travel times, hotel check-in and check-out, activities, restaurant reservations and other plans together in the order they happen.

Offline access

Take your trip details with you.

You will not always have reliable internet while travelling.

ETP lets you keep key trip and booking information available offline on your phone, including dates, times, providers and the details you are likely to need while you are out and about.

Currencies

Book in the currency you actually pay.

Record bookings in their original currency while ETP keeps your overall trip organised in your planning currency.

That is particularly useful when one trip crosses several countries.

Travel Oracle, your AI trip assistant

Ask Travel Oracle about the trip you are already planning.

Travel Oracle understands your saved trip, using the route, bookings, budget, checklist and Trip Check information already in your planner.

Ask “Can we spend two more nights in Bangkok?”, “Suggest something to do on our free afternoon in Paris” or “Add Chiang Rai after Chiang Mai.” Travel Oracle suggests itinerary changes for you to review before applying.

“What have we still got to pay?”“Where are the gaps in our route?”“What could we change to reduce the cost?”

You stay in control. Supported changes are only applied after your approval.

When needed, Travel Oracle can research current web sources. Check important travel requirements with official sources; its help does not replace professional advice.

A few useful answers

Before you start planning.

How much information do I need to enter?

Start with the dates, destinations and budget you know. You do not need every booking before you begin. Add details as you make decisions; the planner becomes more useful as your trip develops.

What is the difference between ETP and TripIt?

TripIt is mainly designed to organise bookings you have already made into a single itinerary. The Extended Travel Planner starts earlier and helps you plan the whole trip, including your route, estimated costs, overall budget, bookings, outstanding tasks and what still needs arranging. If you mainly want to organise confirmation emails and travel reservations, TripIt may suit you. If you are planning a longer or more complex trip and want to manage the planning and budget as well as the bookings, ETP is designed for that.

Can I use it while travelling?

Use your planner from your computer, tablet or phone. During your trip, use Daily Schedule to see the day in order, check booking details and refer to key trip information offline. You need an internet connection to update the plan or use Travel Oracle. Download a Travel Pack before you go offline, and create a fresh copy after making changes.

What happens if I need help?

Email hello@jamesandrob.com for help with the planner.

Does Travel Oracle make changes automatically?

No. Travel Oracle can suggest supported changes, but you review and approve them before they are applied. It does not book or cancel travel or make purchases.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Access to the online planner and Travel Oracle stops when your paid access ends. Ending access does not automatically delete your saved trip data. Downloaded Travel Packs remain available to read, but will not update. If you renew access using the same account, your retained trips become available again. Account deletion is separate.

Are the Cost Estimates live booking prices?

No. They are researched planning estimates based on your destination and travel style, not quotes or live booking prices. Check prices with providers before booking.

What is the difference between my Trip Budget and the Planner Estimate?

Your Trip Budget is the overall amount you decide to spend. The Planner Estimate helps you understand likely destination spending based on your route and travel style. As you add bookings and spending, the planner shows what you have committed, what you still owe and how much of your real budget remains.

Can I use ETP when I don’t have internet?

Yes. Keep key trip and booking information available offline on your phone, including dates, times, providers and details you may need while travelling. You need an internet connection to update your plan or use Travel Oracle. Download a Travel Pack before you go offline.

Can I add bookings in different currencies?

Yes. Record bookings in their original currency while the trip uses your selected planning currency.
